A sizable portion of Persian literature, specially poetry, is allocated to expressing pains and sorrows. These sorrows are of different types including philosophical, mystical, social and individual ones.
Reading Farrokhi's poetry, one can find out that most of the poet's sorrows are socially - rooted. His sorrow is that of freedom and equality, of suppressed farmers and workers. It is the pain of men of freedom, not of 2 poverty. One can also find certain lines in his poems flavoured with love and mysticism.
This article attempts to illustrate the different aspects of sorrow in Farrokhi's poetry as well as their origins and manifestations.
