Baaz-e-Fazae-Al-Ravafez' - a book by Shahab Al-Din Tavariki -was written in the 6th century according to the lunar calander - a period of religious controversy to refute Shi'ite principles. In reply to Tavariki’s claim, Abdol Al-Jalil Gazvini composed Al-Naqz. The book is considered an authoritative prose which delineates the views of Asna Ashur Shi'ite on differences between sunnite and Shi'ite. It supplies abundant information about historical social and theological men of Shi'ite. Furthermore, one can discover a certain method of refutation within the lines of the work.
In terms of language and style, the work is simple enough to indicate the state of prose development during that period. Notwithstanding, certain features stand highlight They include the use of `ella' instead of joz' and `bejoz' (all meaning except), `va' instead of `ba' (meaning `with'), the use of 'infinitives' after the modals ‘bayad' (must), (shayad' (may), `kahad' (will), yarad' (meaning almost `help'), and `tavanad' (can), the use of `ha' instead if joz, the use of 'hi' inflection (connoting potential mood), the use of the word `ijra' instead of `goftan' and `randan-e-lafz' (all meaning 'to stay'), the use of verbals beginning with the preposition 'be', the use of Arabic elements, the use of rhythms, puns, similies, metaphors, ironies, Arabic and Persian proverbs, tales and fables.
