Systematic functional linguistics is a linguistic theory applied in the analysis of literary texts. The theory especially takes the social role of language into account. In a functional grammar, meaning is of specific importance and is manifested in three metafunctions including reflection, intra-individuality and intertextuality. In the reflection metafunction, language plays an experimental role to reflect the human experiences of the external world. It passes the secular experiences to the mental one and then expressed them. It reflects different verbal processes to convey the writer's view of the world to the audience and is effective in creating a specific style. After identifying these linguistic processes, the present study examines four Persian historical books titled Nafthat Al-Masdour and Sirat Jalal Al-Din Monkabarani by Shahab Al-Din Zaydari as well as Tarikh Jahangushay Juvayni and Tasliat Al-Ekhvan by Atâ-Malek Juvayni. The results of the study show that every one of these two writers has applied his own specific processes, but each one has used the same set of processes in both of his works. This indicates the ability of processes to create certain personal styles. It is also found that there is a high frequency of secular cases in Zidari's works, which is because the writer expresses what he sees appropriately with the his presence in the events. However, the high frequency of connections in Atâ-Malek Juvayni’s works is due to his assigning different features to the processes, designing situational connections because of being absent in those events; he has heard them or read about them in books.
